Hurghada Desert Safari: What to Expect from Pickup to Dinner
Desert trips · 2026-10-22

A Hurghada desert safari is the classic way to spend an evening away from the coast. You swap the sea for rocky desert, ride a quad bike, meet a Bedouin village, watch the sun go down from the mountains and finish with dinner and a show under the stars.
This guide walks through our own desert safari from pickup to drop-off, using the details on our trip page, so you know what the evening looks like before you book. Timings can shift with the season and the group, and we confirm the final program with you on WhatsApp.
How the day starts: pickup and transfer
The safari is listed as an 8 to 10 hour program, and hotel pickup is planned for around 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. You are collected by 4x4 Jeep and taken to the desert base. Hotel transfers are included in the price, and we serve Hurghada city, Sahl Hasheesh, El Gouna, Makadi, Soma Bay and Safaga. The exact pickup time for your hotel is confirmed on WhatsApp after you book.
The trip starts from EUR 30 per person. That price covers the round-trip Jeep transfer and the activities listed below.
The activities: quad bike, Spider Car, Jeep and camels
The adventure part is a mix of vehicles and animals, so there is something for most people in the group. Professional desert guides lead every driving convoy, so you follow the guide's line rather than finding your own route, and the pace is set for the whole group.
Not everyone in a family or group has to do everything at the same speed. The quad bike is the longest activity, while the Spider Car and the camel ride are short sessions, which makes the evening feel varied rather than one long ride.
- Quad bike (ATV): about 45 minutes of self-driving, with a helmet provided and professional desert guides leading the convoy.
- Spider Car: a short desert buggy session.
- Jeep safari: a drive through the dunes to a traditional Bedouin village.
- Camel ride: a short, traditional ride through the desert.

The Bedouin village and the sunset
After the driving you visit a traditional Bedouin camp, where the idea is to learn a little about Bedouin lifestyle rather than to rush through. From there you head to a high point in the mountains to watch the sunset. It is the quietest part of the evening and a good moment for photos, so keep your phone or camera charged. Many guests are happy to simply sit, watch the colours change over the mountains and talk about the day before the evening program continues.
Dinner and the evening show
Dinner is a Bedouin BBQ open buffet served under the stars, with unlimited water and soft drinks during the evening program. After dinner there is a live performance with Tanoura dance, belly dancing and a fire show. When the show ends, the Jeep takes you back to your hotel.
- Included: Jeep transfers, quad bike, Spider Car, Jeep safari, Bedouin village visit, camel ride, sunset view, BBQ dinner, water and soft drinks, the evening show, helmets and desert guides.
- Not included: professional photos or videos, a desert scarf and protective goggles, shisha (extra fee), optional tips for guides and drivers, and travel or personal insurance.
What to bring for the evening
Because a scarf and goggles are not included, they are worth thinking about before you leave the hotel, especially for the quad bike ride, when dust is easy to pick up. Ask us on WhatsApp if you are unsure what to bring. Beyond that, a short list covers most evenings.
- Sunglasses, and your own scarf or goggles if you prefer them.
- Closed shoes you do not mind getting dusty.
- A light layer, as desert evenings can feel cooler than the day.
- A charged phone or camera for the sunset.
- Some cash for extras such as shisha, photos or tips.
Is it right for your group?
The safari suits guests who want an active, social evening and are comfortable riding a quad bike. If you prefer the water, our boat trips are calmer days out, and many guests combine a boat day with a desert evening on different days of their stay. If anyone in your group has questions about age, riding experience or health, message us before booking so we can confirm what applies.
When you are ready, message us on WhatsApp at +20 128 8062555 with your date, hotel and number of guests, and we will confirm the program and your pickup time.
