Orange Bay Hurghada: What to Expect on the Island Trip

Boat trips · 2026-10-17

Wooden beach complex and pier at Orange Bay Island with a boat on turquoise water

Orange Bay Hurghada is one of the most popular boat days on the Red Sea coast, and it is easy to see why: a short cruise, clear turquoise water, snorkeling over coral reefs and a beach to relax on afterwards. If you are thinking about booking the trip, this guide walks you through the day in order, from the morning pickup to the return to your hotel.

Everything here comes from our own Orange Bay Island program. Timings can shift slightly with sea and weather conditions, and we confirm the final details with you on WhatsApp when you book.

How the Orange Bay Island day runs

The tour runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Hotel pickup is between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, and a round-trip transfer takes you to the marina where the boat is waiting. From there it is a boat cruise to the island, with the guide looking after the group on board.

The day is built around the water. You get two guided snorkeling stops at coral reefs, then time at the island's private beach, which has wooden swings. A short water sport, either a banana boat or a quattro ride, is part of the program, and an open buffet lunch is served on the boat or at the island restaurant if you have booked it.

Snorkeling: no experience needed

Snorkeling gear is included, so you get a mask, fins and a life jacket, and a snorkeling guide goes with the group. Professional guides and a rescue team monitor everyone while they are swimming, which is reassuring if you are not a confident swimmer or if you are trying snorkeling for the first time.

Tell the guide at the first stop if you are a beginner. You can take it at your own pace, float near the boat and watch the reef from the surface. Marine life depends on the day and the spot, so we never promise particular sightings, but the reefs are the reason the stops are on the program.

Is Orange Bay the right trip for you?

Choose Orange Bay if you want a mix of snorkeling and beach time without a long day of sailing. If your main wish is a chance to swim with dolphins, look at our Dolphin House trip instead, and if you would like a different island and reef stops, our Magawish Island trip is worth comparing. Our guide to Hurghada boat trips sets the three side by side.
